L&' Safranum's adventure began in 2013, when the brand was registered, but its story began exactly two years earlier.
In fact, in 2011, Roberto Lembo bought a 6000 sqm property on the hill of Mon, in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba, among the beautiful Langhe territories, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. An enchanting landscape and the energy that the earth offers invite him to deep reflections, rediscovering the benefits that only a life in contact with nature can give.
Roberto, however, soon finds himself faced with a problem: the land is too big for a vegetable garden and too small for the classic agricultural productions of the Langhe. A few months later, on a trip, he is fascinated by the story of a Frenchman who cultivated the crocus sativus. So the following year, he began his adventure with his friend Furio Dutto, promising not to give up until he achieved a product of excellent quality
After two years of study, Safranum was born, a brand registered by &' Azienda Agricola Mon.
It is right here in Monforte d'Alba that Crocus Sativus (or saffron) has found the right place to grow luxuriantly in a completely natural way without fertilizers or additives. An optimal microclimate, in addition to the minerals contained in the earth, which already feed the fine wines, make saffron rich in beneficial properties for the health of those who are lucky enough to taste it.
With continuous enthusiasm and humility, today the company produces the highest quality saffron, meeting the best standards required by the market. The production is carried out with the rotation of the land in the tireless search for an ideal balance between man and nature
