Sambonet: scopri i prodotti

The history of this company began in 1856. Giuseppe Sambonet, son of a nobleman from Vercelli, after obtaining his Fine Arts diploma, obtained the patent of Master Goldsmith and established the Giuseppe Sambonet company, filing the stamp with the initials “GS” at the Turin Mint. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the company he founded was the Official Supplier of many noble families, including the Duchess of Genoa and the Count of Turin.

In 1932, Sambonet, the first in Italy, built an industrial-scale production plant capable of combining a production of solid silverware with that of galvanic silverware. In 1938 he developed an innovative process for the production of stainless steel cutlery and developed the technique for silver plating steel.

In 1947, the production of stainless steel knives and blades began with its own technology. In 1956, Sambonet conquered the international market: first out of 53 competitors, it won the contract for the Hilton Hotel in Cairo with a line of tableware still in collection today.

Since the 1960s, great designers have created collections that affirm and spread the company's orientation to design. Roberto Sambonet, in particular, creates collections of primary importance, such as the “Pesciera”, “Center line” and the “Line 50” trays, now in collection at the MoMA in New York. Anna Castelli Ferrieri also designs a line of cutlery for Sambonet, the Hannah collection, winner of the Golden Compass in 1994. In 2004, the architect Rodolfo Dordoni created the S-Pot line of cookware. Finally, the Giò Ponti cutlery, in production since 1932, deserves special mention.

In 1997 Sambonet became part of the Paderno group, while in 2009 the prestigious German porcelain brand Rosenthal was acquired. The acquisitions of the Bavarian company Arzberg in 2013 and, in 2015, of Ercuis & Raynaud, symbol of the elegance and tradition of “made in France” porcelain, saw a &' further growth in the range of products offered. Headquartered in Orfengo, between Novara and Vercelli, the Sambonet Paderno Industrie S.p.a Group is now a leader in the production of high-quality design items for the table and kitchen, intended both for the home sector and for the Ho.Re.Ca

channel.
